Community Habitat Programs Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing distressed residential properties, restoring neighborhood stability, and creating safer, more productive community assets.
We invite government agencies, municipalities, private corporations, financial institutions, foundations, philanthropists, contractors, community organizations, property owners, volunteers, and residents to join us in this important work.
At Community Habitat Programs Inc., we focus on acquiring and restoring overlooked one-to-four-unit distressed residential properties that may be too small, complicated, geographically dispersed, or administratively burdensome for larger developers.
These properties can remain vacant or deteriorated for years—reducing surrounding property values, creating safety concerns, weakening municipal tax bases, and limiting opportunities for safe and attainable housing. Our goal is to address this gap one property, one block, and one community at a time.
By coordinating municipalities, donors, businesses, contractors, and residents, we seek to:
• Acquire and rehabilitate distressed residential properties
• Reduce vacancy, deterioration, and neighborhood blight
• Improve public safety and community appearance
• Return properties to safe and productive use
• Expand opportunities for attainable housing
• Support local contractors and workforce-development initiatives
• Restore properties to municipal tax rolls when appropriate
• Develop a flexible and replicable neighborhood-revitalization model
